Is there a problem with Panasonic surround sound?

I have a Panasonic TV (tx-p50gt50b) and a Panasonic surround sound (sa-btt270) which both work, but I cannot convince the surround sound to play sound from the TV. When I turn the surround sound on, it mutes the TV and I get silence.

The screen has no reaction only a red light that doesn’t flash. Depressing. make sure tv is clicking when you press power button. All Panasonic TV Lcd Plasma etc, is not worth even banging your head thinking about fixing it, when you no what fault is, you will buy the so called fix, it won’t work because something else caused it.
